Community Involvement

Firm principal architect Robert Aho holds the belief that we should each do as much as possible to help each other in our communities. If you are not exhausted at the end of each day, then you probably did not exert yourself as much as you probably should have. This attitude is encouraged within his firm.*

*As a disclaimer, Robert is known to typically take one or more Sunday naps. The below mentioned community involvement is also something that grows over a period of years, and may not be as time-consuming as it appears.

• American Institute of Architects-Northern MN Chapter

  Currently serving on the Board of Directors.




• Construction Specifications Institute-Twin Ports Chapter

  Currently serving on the Board of Directors as President.




• Old Brule Heritage Society

  Has served on the Board of Directors in this Wisconsin historical society. Has been actively assisting in the restoration of an historic windmill.




• North Country R.I.D.E.

  Has done extensive pro-bono work for this worthy organization. Please visit the website and consider volunteering or donating for these great kids and individuals with special needs.




• Friends of Animals-Carlton County

  Another worthy organization where Robert spent a great many hours providing pro-bono assistance to help place this organization into a new facility. Please consider adopting a pet.




• Sustainability Duluth

  Sustainability Duluth members came out in public support of a resolution for Duluth to become an eco-municipality. The resolution passed, thanks to overwhelming community support and a good group of city officials. A common thread to this topic was that sustainability is in everybody's best interest, regardless of political affiliation. We need to take care of ourselves and this place in which we live.




• Duluth Preservation Alliance

  An organization dedicated to preserving Duluth's architectural heritage.




• Duluth Chamber of Commerce

  It's always good to get out and meet other individuals in the business community. The Duluth Chamber is great at keeping in touch with issues that affect our community.
